Indie-Music.com reports that there is a pressing problem facing musicians:
"Low Power FM (LPFM) is a band of radio waves that allow small, cool,
indie radio stations to exist. The government is currently considering
passing legislation that will damage this great resource before it really
gets off the ground. They want to trade off the rights to the airwaves
to big companies like Clear Channel Communications - who play all that
'corporate music' - and want to stamp out the 'little guys'.
As musicians, we have to support the stations that are supporting us by
playing our music. You need to contact your Congressmen (see http://www.thomas.loc.gov/) and also write
President Clinton NOW to let him know we want him to veto any bills that
come through damaging our rights to LPFM at president@whitehouse.gov."
